Amazon has purchased, following an auction hosted by ICANN, the .buy TLD. Amazon managed to buy it for the sum of $4.6 million.
Google also participated at the auction to buy the .buy domain, however Amazon’s offer was better.
From now on Amazon will have exclusive rights to use the .buy tld, and Amazon’s interest for this domain needs no further explications.

Amazon, the biggest retailer on the world, if we consider the business model which is different than those of companies such as Alibaba or eBay, is in a constant growth for many years now, on multiple sectors of the IT market.
The purchase of the .buy domain is just a logical move which can help Amazon’s business.
However, Amazon has not purchased just the .buy tld, but also some .buy domain names that are of interest to Amazon, one way or another.
